What is Chondrosarcoma!
Chondrosarcoma is a malignant neoplasm that is characteristic of cartilage tissue (cartilage tissue) that is not normal. Chondrosarcoma is more often involves adults with an average age around 45 years, which is more common in men than in women. Chondrosarcoma can be found in the ribs, pelvis, thighs, shoulders and jaw bone. However, chondrosarcoma is rarely encountered in the jawbone. Region anterior maxillary bone is most frequently affected side ie 60% of the total cases of chondrosarcoma of bone of the jaw. In the mandible, the region of the mandibular symphysis is the side that is often involved.
Symptoms of Bone Cancer Chondrosarcoma
Clinical symptoms are often experienced by patients with chondrosarcoma include pain, swelling, loss of teeth, erythematous, berlobul and ulcers. Until now, the cause of chondrosarcoma is not known clearly. However, Batsakis JG et al (1980) states that chondrosarcoma is often associated with patients with a history of enchondroma or osteosarcoma.
Determination of chondrosarcoma diagnosis requires some checks, such as clinical, histopathological and radiography.
